Udyog Aadhaar was the MSME registration system before Udyam Registration. It was phased out in July 2020.
It was a single page certificate containing Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum(UAM) Number and a few basic details about your business. It was based purely on self-declaration.
Here's what details consist on the certificate:
No, it's been discontinued and won't get you any MSME benefits anymore. If you're still holding onto an old Udyog Aadhaar registration, it's time to migrate to Udyam Registration.
To get benefits of government schemes, loans, subsidies, tenders and so on, MSMEs should register their businesses on the Udyam website. So if you're still using old Udyam Aadhaar, you're likely missing out on all the benefits which are exclusively reserved for you.
If you don't migrate, you don't get the benefits of MSME low interest rate and collateral free loans, subsidies, and other protections that require an active Udyam Registration.
